HDC donates devices to study/library area

November 24, 2020

Following a request for assistance from the Office of the Member of Parliament for Port of Spain South, the Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation (HDC) provided computer devices to facilitate the effective functioning of the newly-established library at the constituency office. The two laptop devices were handed over to the Member of Parliament, Keith Scotland by Minister in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Adrian Leonce at the HDC’s South Quay head office.

This contribution is in keeping with the HDC’s corporate social responsibility efforts which provide assistance for the youth in constituencies close to the organisation’s head office on George Street.  Since 2018, over one hundred (100) young residents of HDC communities in east Port of Spain, have benefitted from our annual Back to School Drive which provided school bags, lunch bags and stationery items. In August 2020, fifty (50) school bags and items were distributed to students of Eastern Boys’ Government Primary School, Nelson Street Girls’ RC School and two communities in Belmont.

Notwithstanding our fiscal challenges, the Corporation will continue to support initiatives which uplift the youth in our communities especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.
