With the break in rainfall on Saturday morning, teams from the HDC’s Estate Management Division were in Oropune Gardens and Greenvale, leading clean up efforts. As the water in Oropune Gardens, began to recede more quickly, the crews from the HDC were able to assist more residents in Oropune Gardens. Clean up efforts at both housing communities continued into Saturday evening and will continue until the most adversely affected, are assisted.
The HDC’s Social and Community Services Department also visited the emergency shelters in La Horquetta and have coordinated the distribution of meals and mattresses to residents of these housing communities who were most adversely affected. The HDC’s Social and Community Services Department will return to the shelters on Sunday to gather data from residents of Greenvale and Oropune Gardens regarding property damages.
