Residents of Oropune Gardens whose homes suffered damages from the floods in October 2018, will have their homes refurbished by the HDC. This assurance was given to residents as they met with contractors and other technical officials from the HDC last week. On April 12, Housing and Urban Development Minister, Major General (Ret’d) Edmund Dillon and Managing Director, Brent Lyons visited the eastern housing community to speak with residents and review the refurbishment plan for the community.
We had always intended to begin refurbishment works in Oropune Gardens at an earlier date but this proved difficult at that time. In addition to the refurbishment work, flood mitigation efforts and the re-installation of pumps will be completed in preparation for the upcoming rainy season.
