We are aware of the challenges which the residents of our Bon Air North Housing Community have been experiencing over the last few weeks and once again, regret the inconvenience which this situation has caused them and their families. Over the last few weeks, we have implemented a number of solutions which were intended to provide temporary and long term relief. These included the installation of water tanks for residents in the apartment buildings and town houses, while the construction of the main line is done by WASA. To date, these recently installed tanks have provided 40,000 gallons to residents located up the hill and 12,000 gallons for those who live lower down the hill. In the long term, WASA is to install a new main line which should benefit the needs of the entire community. It is important to note that our measures worked smoothly for three full weeks until WASA began experiencing low levels at the reservoir as a result of the harsh dry season.
We will continue to work with WASA to ensure that our residents are no longer inconvenienced unnecessarily. We will also continue to communicate with our residents through social media, notices and official HDC liaisons, as we have been doing over the last few weeks.
